FAIR EXHIBITION RULES AND REGULATIONS
Items that require pre-registration
Bike, Stroller, or Wheelchair Decorating
Saturday, September 12th at 2:15
There will be a parade of contestants within the West parking lot of Southridge Church. Please ensure your “vehicle” is in the area by 2:15 to be lined up for the parade of entrants.
Winners will be selected. Prizes awarded.
Fair Exhibition Items
Please register by September 7th by 4 pm to ensure we have adequate space and judges to complete the judging in a timely manner.
The judging will take place the morning of September 12th, so all entries must be at the church by Friday, September 11th by 5:00 pm.
Prizes will be awarded in each category!
TAGS FOR YOUR CLASSES WILL BE PROVIDED WHEN YOU PRESENT YOUR ITEMS
1) Homemade Apple Pie
All ages eligible to enter.
Please bring an entire 10″ pie in a tin foil baking tin. Judges will be looking for homemade crust, homemade filling and judging on overall appearance, taste, and flakiness of crust.
No additional items with pie, eg.) no icream or cheese etc.
2) Homemade Brownie
All ages eligible to enter
Please bring 5 pieces (2″ X 2″) or (5 cm X 5 cm) on a paper plate covered in plastic wrap. Judges are looking for ooey, gooey, yummy flavour and deliciousness.
3) Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies
all ages eligible to enter
Please bring 5 cookies on a paper plate covered in plastic wrap. Judges will be looking for softness of cookie, flavour, consistent cookie size.
4) Homemade Unbaked Cookies
Ages 10 & under with some parental guidance
Please bring 5 cookies on a paper plate covered in plastic wrap. Judges will be looking for tastiness, appearance and overall goodness.
5) Homemade Buns
All ages eligible – Please bring 12 buns in a sealed plastic bag. Buns will be judged based on flavour, freshness, fluffiness, and appearance.
6) Artwork: drawing, colour, or paint – ages 6 & under
Judges are looking for use of colour, creativity and characters.
7) Artwork: drawing, colour, or paint – ages 7-10
Judges are looking for use of colour, originality, and use of multiple characters.
8) Artwork: drawing, colour, or paint – ages 11 – 13
Please bring your artwork which can include multiple types of media, such as water or acrylic paint, wax colours, pencil crayons. Judges are looking for originality, use of colour and movement.
9) Model Cars – ages 12 & under
Judging will be based on care and attention to details and overall appearance.
10) Model Cars – 13 & over
Judges are looking for precision work, details in finishing touches and authenticity.
11) Flower Arrangement
All ages eligible – Please bring flowers from your own garden in a vase of your choosing along with your entry. Judges are looking for colour, variety, use of greenery and overall eye appeal.
12) Crochet Item
All ages eligible
Please bring any crocheted item. Judging will be based on the consistency of stitching, the uniqueness of the item and the general cuddle appeal.
